- William James
Inspired by William James, this illustration depicts one of his famous quotes written out in the shape of a shoe.
How is this print made?
I first start with a swatch of ink rolled out onto a large sheet of textured paper, this is the base layer for everything to sit on. I then draw a large silhouette of the outlining illustration, tracing around it creating a stencil or mask to work inside of. Next I roughly plot out where I want each of the letters to sit using pencil. Once I figure out the layout, I start using ink to outline the letters. Using multiple sheets of tracing paper I am able adjust, make mistakes, and then correct them on the next layer. Once all of these elements are complete I scan them at high resolution and then group them all together.
This print is outputted on the finest archival paper. A superior matte finish with a heavy basis weight of 240gsm.
